Meet the Magic Man (open)

There came a ding as the door swung open and the odd looking young woman wandered into the shop, glancing around in wonder at all the assortments.

Saturday is pushing a broom about the floor in a dedicated way when the bells chime.

"Ah! Mon petite cher. Delightful! How do dey night be findin' ya?"

She smiled happily, her fingers tracing lines across the items as she meandered the store in her indirect manner of walking. She didn't really look up from the items she was touching.

"Beautiful. How are you Mr. Magic Man?"

"Oh, not so beautiful as I used ta be."

A grin is offered.

"Lookin' for someting specific?"

She shook her head, her hair flailing wildly.

"No... browsing."

She sidled up to the counter and peeked over it at the things behind.

"What's back here?"

"Rarer tings."

He tilts his head and watches her.

"Not ting calls to ya?"

She nods solemnly, her hand tracing across the counter as she begins to move around it.

"Everything calls to me...." She says softly, her thoughts suddenly distracted.

"Ever consider callin' back, mon cher?"

She shook her head slowly, "I have tried to speak, but they will not listen to me."

She suddenly ducked beneath the counter, a soft jingle as her hands began to move across the items behind the counter.

"What you lookin' fer, miss?"

He ducks his head down to be on eye level with her.

"Only de personnel be allowed behind de countah."

She tilted her head lightly to the side and looked up at him with wondrous eyes.

"Then I am personnel right?"

"Only if you work fer me. You be wanting a job?"

She nodded her head happily, her arms wrapping around him.

Saturday pets her for a moment before guiding her away from the counter. How this one got Primogen was anyones guess.

"Ok den. You need ta watch and tell me tings. I like knowin' what moves dat most folk ain't seeing."

She nodded happily, smiling up at him and letting herself be guided out from behind the counter.

"You got any insight inta where de baddies be hiddin' mon petite?"

She looked at him sideways, her head tilting slightly as her eyes twinkled. She put her finger to her nose and smiled.

"I would be much obliged, mon petite. One of dem did a bad ting long ago and I need ta see it done. "

She nodded, "Tell me a story." She said, sitting up on the counter.

"I tell you a story, you tell me where dey likely be. Deal?"He extended a long fingered hand to her.

She nodded, placing her elbows on her knees and her chin in her hands as she began to slowly swing her feet back and forth.

Saturday nods and ponders a moment.

"Once upon a time, der be a lovely princess lived in a land far far from here. She was a beauty beyond comparin', with a smile bot' cruel and kind. Eyes like ice and humors ta match. She be perfect, born O' nobility and blood proved true. Dis princess had a court full o pretties dat sought her favor, and she was kind ta all. Graced all with her presence and patience, ya? But, der be a villain in dis story. See, outside her kingdom was a group dat hated her blood and name just cus it be her blood an' name. Barbarians at de gates, so to speak."

He shrugs a bit.

"One night, a group o' de barbarians snuck inta de kingdom and burned out de princess. Dey laughed and clasped hands over her smolderin' corpse. But dey no see de shadows and spirits watchin' der foolishness. De spirits tell on de barbarians and dey have been dying slowly over de last century."

She was listening with rapt attention and large child-like eyes.

"Is there more?". She asked curiously, eager to hear the rest of the story if there was more to tell.

"Well chil, with each of de barbarians that crossed to de udder side, dey would speak softly of others dat had been wit dem. One leads to another leads to another. Each one tells a wee bit more o de story. One by one de soldiers fell till de last one standin' is their chief. De one dat give de order and lead de charge. Dat person be close, mon cher. Very close."

She looked around the shop with a soft inquisitive gaze. "Where?"
